Fans of Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver and Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush will relish this intense paranormal love story featuring Romeo and Juliet, literary history's most tragic couple, who meet again, not as true lovers, but truly as enemies.
The most tragic love story in history . . .

Juliet Capulet didn't take her own life. She was murdered by the person she trusted most, her new husband, Romeo Montague, a sacrifice made to ensure his own immortality. But what Romeo didn't anticipate was that Juliet would be granted eternity, as well, and would become an agent for the Ambassadors of Light. For 700 years, she's fought Romeo for the souls of true lovers, struggling to preserve romantic love and the lives of the innocent. Until the day she meets someone she's forbidden to love, and Romeo, oh Romeo, will do everything in his power to destroy that love.

"These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume."
—Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

We all know of the story about the strarcrossed lovers Romeo and Juliet who died long ago... well what if they aren't dead? Both Romeo and Juliet are immortals and Juliet fights for love while Romeo fights to destroy it... which makes them sworn enemies. Juliet becomes a girl named Ariel and Romeo becomes Derek, Ariels date to a party that Ariel hates... and when Juliet and Romeo enter their bodies... they are in the same car. Ariel (Juliet) fights off Derek (Romeo) and waves down a car who happens to be a teenage guy named Ben that "Ariel" feels a huge connection to. Ariel soon finds out that Ben and Ariels best friend are the soulmates she has to try to bring together and "Ariel" soon finds herself getting jealous because she wants to be with Ben. Romeo is also trying to get Juliet to fall in love with him again so that they can break away from their immortality and become mortal and be together. This story could be very confusing if you don't pay attention to what is going on but if you are up to the challenge, I would say it's a good read that is worth a try.
